This extension of the excursion departs from Puerto Blest. You travel 3 km. by bus to Puerto Alegre. From there you take a modern boat to navigate Lake Frias.
The particular green color of its waters is due to tiny particles of pulverized rock from the friction of the glacier with the walls of Cerro Tronador, whose imposing white summit stands out among the wooded landscape, a view that can only be appreciated from the boat. After sailing for about 20 minutes you arrive at Puerto Frias, near the border with Chile, where you stay for a few minutes.
Then you make the inverse route towards Puerto Pañuelo.
