San Martín de los Andes por 7 Lagos

San Martín de los Andes por 7 Lagos

A paradisiacal landscape of lakes, forests and unique trails. Lakes like mirrors, with the purest water imaginable, beautiful forests, imposing mountains and...
This excursion invites you to travel one of the most famous routes of the Argentinean Patagonia, the route of the 7 lakes. The attraction of this route that connects Villa La Angostura with San Martin de los Andes is concentrated in the beautiful lakes and lively waterfalls of crystalline waters that can be appreciated along the way. Where the magical meeting of the Andes Mountains and Lake Lácar takes place, you will find San Martín de los Andes, a typical mountain village. The excursion departs from the centre of Bariloche, along National Route 40 towards the north, and after crossing the town of Dina Huapi, in the province of Río Negro, you cross the bridge over the Limay River and start the journey through the northern sector of the Nahuel Huapi National Park, bordering the coast of the lake of the same name, the most important in the region. You will arrive to Villa La Angostura and stop for 30 minutes both on the way there and on the way back. It is a small and beautiful town with a picturesque commercial centre and a wide variety of restaurants. As you continue along Route 40, you will go to the north, known from here on as the Seven Lakes Road. This trail borders Lake Espejo (stop), Lake Correntoso (stop), Lake Villarino and Lake Falkner (stop). Then, we enter the Lanín National Park, bordering the Escondido Lake, the Machónico (stop) and the Lácar Lake, to finally arrive to San Martín de los Andes at midday, where we stay for 2 hours. The journey from Bariloche to San Martin de los Andes is 184 kilometres.
