It is a town in the southwest of Río Negro. It is located in a fertile valley crossed by the Quemquemtreu River, at the foot of the Piltriquitron Hill.

It has a marked identity of its own that invites you to get in touch with its people and enjoy its traditional products. It is the most important urban centre of the Comarca Andina del Paralelo 42. The perfect landscape that surrounds it is complemented with farms destined to the plantation of fine fruit and hops, the production of homemade sweets, breweries with original flavours, trout farms and the handicraft fair, famous for the quality of the products offered for sale there. It is located 129 kilometres away from Bariloche, and can be reached by National Route 40, going south.
